M.A. Student Bailey received her B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature with a Chinese minor in May 2022 from the University of North Georgia. Through UNG, she earned her TESOL certificate as well as a certificate in Spanish Translation. She participated in a virtual study abroad program to Spain in summer of 2020 where she gained historical and linguistic knowledge of Peninsular Spanish. Last year, Bailey was a Critical Language Scholarship awardee and participated in an 8-week intensive virtual language program for Mandarin Chinese. Her host university for this scholarship program was Changchun College of Humanities and Sciences based out of Jilin Province in Northeast China. Bailey has experience presenting in research conferences; her undergraduate student paper received an Honorable Mention in the 23rd Annual Conference on the Americas that was held at UNG's Gainesville campus in Feb. 2019. Her areas of interest are Sociology and Language Variation.
