LCUGA 2025

The Linguistics Conference at the University of Georgia (LCUGA 2025) was hosted on March 15-16, 2025, in Athens, Georgia. The theme of this year's conference was Connecting the Disciplines through Language. Our goal was to stress the interdisciplinary nature of Linguistics as a field and build community with rising scholars from multiple universities in the United States and abroad.

  • Dr. Justin Royer (Université de Montréal):  Approaching dialectal variation in Chuj, a Mayan language
  • Dr. Celeste Lee (Spelman College): The Language of Bias: Navigating Racial Attitudes in an Era of Anti-DEI Sentiments and Legislation
  • Dr. Madeline Gilbert (University of Georgia): Representations and acoustics in an ongoing change in Sevillian Spanish
Workshops
