SPARK Award Application Now Open For Spring 2026!

We are now accepting applications for the SPARK Award for Undergraduate Research Spring 2026 cycle! The award, made possible by the generous endowment of Michael H. and Nancy E. Scarbrough, supports undergraduate students pursuing research projects and travel to present their work at regional or national conferences. 

Undergraduate UGA Linguistics majors are eligible to apply for two types of awards: travel funding of $250 to $500 to support conference presentations, and research project funding of up to $1,000. Priority is given to students who have not previously received a SPARK Award, though past recipients may reapply within funding limits. 

Completed applications can be submitted to Amy Smoler via email or in person. 

The current application deadline is March 2, 2026.
