Jean Costa-Silva

Linguistics Teaching Assistant

Jean's primary linguistic interests pertain to Second Language Acquisition and Syntax. He has a BA in English Studies (English Linguistics, Literature, and TESOL) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), and teaching certificates from the University of Oregon and the University of Cambridge. Prior to coming to UGA, Jean taught English as a Foreign Language in Slovakia and Brazil. In 2017-2018 Jean was a Fulbright scholar in the Department of Romance Languages at UGA. He is currently a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Linguistics and a Goizueta Foundation Fellow based at the Center for Latino Achievement and Success in Education (CLASE). He is also the Executive Editor of UGA Working Papers in Linguistics.
